Both Bley and Niroux lake have had yet another bumper season for carp banging on the weight.
Bley lake in the past has always been known by it’s regulars as a real cracking 30s and 40s water, with nearly all the carp caught weighing well into the 30 lb mark and this year some anglers have taken as many as 12 x 40s in a week each.
In 2012 many of our big 40s have all banged on that extra few pounds, making Bley a venue where a few 50s are certainly not out of the question on a weekly basis now.
One or two anglers have taken 2 x 50s in a week so far, with many multiple big hits of upper 40s and shed loads of 30s being banked.
With some anglers now banking as many as 50 carp in a week it’s no wonder the book is full again for this year.
There are stacks of carp over 48lb now in the lake and these young fish are still moving on in weight and growing fast.
Commons over 52lb have been banked this year and mirrors to 57lb in some of the big hit weeks on the lake, and we are sure that it’s just a matter time before Bley doe’s its first 60lb carp.
Niroux too has seen it’s big fish putting on weight at a staggering rate, with some of the 50lb carp putting on as much as 8lb in the season.
Niroux’s carp have always grown a lot faster than the Bley fish due to the lower stocking rate in the lake, and Niroux is certain to do a 60lb carp during 2012, that, we are most certain of.
Although Niroux is better known as a lake that can be moody sometimes, some anglers have taken as many as 3 different 50s in a week and also banked as many as 12 x 40s some of which were over 49lb in the same week as their 50s.The lake has also has seen carpers take bit hits on it with 50s out most weeks in the later half of the year.
